Leonor has just graduated in collage. When she was an adolescent, she was marked by a confidence of her cousin Filipa: during a discussion she said she was adopted and she was not the daughter of her uncles. Leonor never told anyone anything about what she heart that afternoon. That night, she goes to meet her parents to celebrate her graduation. Over dinner her father, Manuel, tells her that on such important day, she can ask for anything she likes. She is allowed to desire whatever she wants. Leonor looks at her parents and calmly, but in a very firm and determined way, says: Dad, I want to meet my real family. Her mother, Margarida, leaves the table, but the father reveals the truth to his daughter. He tells that he is her father but her real mother was a woman that he met in Macao and with whom he felt in love. She disappeared and, when she returned, she brought a new-born baby girl with her. She handed her over to the father for him to bring her to Lisbon and without further explanations, disappeared again.
Without telling anyone anything, except her cousin and friend, Leonor gets a plane to Macao and goes in search of her mother. Leonor will get involved in the story of a mother who is trying to save her daughter who is condemned to death. But, who is this woman really?
Leonor will fall in love with Macao but with Diego, the boyfriend of Filipa, as well. He was considered to be death when he was attacked by a “tsunami” when he was surfing with a friend in Thailand. What will happen to Leonor, Diego and Filipa?
